Burhan, 3, dies of gunshot wounds at SKIMS

Baramulla: Three year-old son of a former militant, who was critically injured in an attack by unknown gunmen that left his father dead, has succumbed to his injuries at the SK institute of medical sciences here, a close relative told Kashmir Reader today.

Burhan was critically injured when unknown motorcycle borne gunmen tossed a hand grenade and opened a volley of gunfire at his father Bashir Ahmad Bhat in Sagipora village of Sopore on Friday evening.

A former militant of Harkat ul Mujahideen, Bashir succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital. However, his minor son, who received shots in abdomen, was referred to SKIMS in critical condition.

“He died of the serious wounds early this morning,” Burhan’s uncle Mohamad Ashraf Mir told Kashmir Reader.
