KEA accuses minister of sabotaging healthcare facilities in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Economic Alliance Chairman Mohammad Yasin Khan on Thursday accused Health Minister Dr Lal Singh of sabotaging the development of healthcare.
In a statement, Khan said the glaring example was the prestigious SMHS Hospital here has been left virtually defunct due to conspiracy hatched by the vested interests.
“The CVT wing of the hospital has been left defunct making patients die as the two main specialists have been transferred to Jammu. We are not against development of Jammu for that happens to be part of the state but why concern for one region at the cost of other,” Khan said adding this was a conspiracy hatched by the “regional forces.”
“What was the need of transferring the specialist to Jammu hospital when Kashmir equally needs them,” he asked.
Khan said the patients at the SMHS hospital have been left unheard by the government. Khan said the irony is that even the MOS Health Asiya Naqash has neglected the issue.
