SRINAGAR: Expressing delight over the starting of “Radio Sada-e-Hurriyat-e-Kashmir” on internet, the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani termed the development as a “good step” towards highlighting the “plight of oppressed Kashmiris”.
“It is a good step towards creating awareness regarding the atrocities and highlighting the human rights violations going on in Jammu and Kashmir at the hands of occupational forces,” Geelani in a statement while congratulating the sponsors and organizers of the program said.
He said the media has emerged as a powerful medium in mobilizing the public opinion on any matter. “The Indian forces are unleashing worst kind of atrocities upon the people of Kashmir but due to New Delhi’s forced control, the real situation of this region does not reach to world. To fill this gap, a satellite TV channel is need of the hour. In this situation an internet based radio channel ‘Radio Sada-e-Hurriyat-e-Kashmir’ started by the Kashmiri pro-freedom migrants is a good beginning in this process and they deserve every appreciation by the whole nation,” Geelani said.
