SRINAGAR: In an endeavor to maintain the beauty and ecology of tourist destinations across the state, the Tourism department on Tuesday kick-started ‘Safai ka Hafta” (cleanliness week).
It will be observed from September 15 to 21, an official release issued here said. It said the main function on the inaugural day of the event was held at Gulmarg in presence of Secretary Tourism, Farooq Ahmad Shah. CEO Gulmarg Development Authority, Nazir Ahmad Mir, was also present on the occasion, it said.
“Similar programmes were organized at other tourist destinations under various tourism development authorities across the state. Various local stakeholders related to the sector participated in the initiative,” it added.
It said the campaign aims to help maintain beauty and cleanliness at the tourist destinations.
