Srinagar: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) and Challenger Novelty Football Academy (CNFA) secured their berth in the finals of Annual League Football Tournament, Division-B, winning their respective semi-finals played at TRC ground on Tuesday.
IUST thrashed Warsi FC, Ompora in a lopsided first semi-final by 5-0. IUST, it appeared, were tactic wise an ocean ahead of their opponents which was clear from the fact they dominated the proceeding from the word go.
For the winning team striker, Nadeem scored two goals while Haroon Altaf, Faizan and Raja Musharaf scored a goal each.
Warsi FC lacked coordination in the midfield failing to convert a couple of chances in the match.
In the second semi final Challenger Novelty Football Academy beat National Dalgate FC by 2-0.
There was nothing to choose between the two sides in the first half as both teams played attacking football. Both teams were not ready to concede an inch both teams went into break with scoreline of 0-0. CNFA upped the ante with their forward lines pressing some fine moves either side of the flank. It took only 15 minutes in the second half for the CNFA to score their first goal through Zubair Ahmad much to the joy of his teams and support staff.
In the 77th minute Shahid scored second goal and three minutes later Musaib scored third goal for CNFA.
The tournament is organized by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association in association with District Football Association Srinagar.
