Geelani calls for shutdown against “cold blooded” murder of youths

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) has called for a shutdown on Wednesday against the “cold blooded” murder of three youths by unknown gunmen on Sunday.

“Syed Ali Geelani has called for complete and statewide shutdown tomorrow against the cold blooded murder of three youths in Pattan,” a spokesman of the conglomerate said in a press statement.

On Monday, bodies of Mohammad Amir Reshi of Hardshiva, Sopore; Ashiq Hussain Wani, a law graduate, of Lolipora, Pattan and Naveed Ahmad Khan, an engineering student, of Batapora, Sopore were recovered from an orchard at Pattan leading to a spontaneous shutdown. Amir and Ashiq, police had said were militants of Lashkar-e-Islam outfit led by Hizbul Mujahideen rebel and the longest surviving militant in north Kashmir, Qayum Najar.
