Baramulla: Violent protests erupted in Palhalan and Pattan towns of this north Kashmir district after three bullet riddled bodies of young boys were recovered from an orchard this afternoon.
Hundreds of people, including men and women took to streets in Palhallan and Pattan here when the news of the bodies being recovered from an orchard in Dangerpora spread in the twin towns this afternoon, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. Chanting “We want freedom,” Salam O Martyrs,” the protesters alleged that the trio was shot dead after subjected to torture. They also suspected the role of unformed men in the killings.
Angry protesters, witnesses said pelted rocks at the government forces at Palhallan Chowk.
“The forces returned the stones triggering pitched battles. The clashes are still going on,” witnesses said.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is observed in the towns against the cold blooded murder of the three boys.
