Pulwama: Amid a complete shutdown in twin towns of Pulwama and Awantipora, Thousands of people today participated in the funeral prayers of slain Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander Irshad Ahmad Ganai and staged pro-freedom demonstrations.
Early morning, hundreds of people visited Padgampora in Awantipora to have last glimpse of Irshad, who was killed in a brief gun-battle with the government forces in Kakpora area here on Saturday evening. Irshad’s body was carried in a procession, as the number of mourners swelled to thousands.
