Srinagar: After holding extensive interactions with the students and faculty, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team comprising of six members concluded their four day visit on Friday of IUST.
During the visit, NAAC team inspected each department of the university and extensively interacted with the faculty. The team also interacted with the students, alumni, parents and other stake holders. The team after thoroughly examining the physical infrastructure, teaching facilities and other requirements prepared a report which will be submitted to NAAC in due course. A copy of the report was handed over by Prof. S. R Shetye,Chairman NAAC Peer Team to Prof A. R. Trag, Vice Chancellor IUST in the exit meetingon Friday, spokesman said.
Speaking on the occasion which was attended by representatives from faculty, student and management, Prof S. R Shetye expressed his gratitude for the support and approach that the team witnessed during the visit.
Explaining the intent of NAAC, he said the assessment is actually meant to determine the potential of an educational institution and make suggestions to make it achieve the same.
Prof. S. R Shetye said IUST has a wonderful campus and a perfect ambience for learning and research. “It is a tribute to the founders of the university who have decided to locate a new university with emphasis on job oriented programmes and at the same time keeping a track of the fundamental values of this region,” Prof. S. R Shetye.
Earlier Prof Fozia S. Qazi on behalf of Vice Chancellor IUST extended a formal welcome to the peer team and Dr M. Amin Bhat, Deputy Registrar delivered formal vote of thanks.
