srinagar: Chairman all traders assiciation Anantnag (ATAA) Ghulam Nabi ShahFriday described the high court verdict as a religious hegemony.
“Today they have ordered ban on beef and tomorrow they will tell us to stop offering Nimaz. Every conscious Kashmiri muslim should protest against this religious hegemony on part of fascist communal elements,” Shah said in a statement.
He said that it is irony that they are banning the beef which Islam has permitted the muslims to eat but are not banning alcohol which is reason for the rise in the rape cases and sexual assaults on women across the country.
“People of Kashmir should only slaughter bovines preferably cows as a mark of protest against the court verdict so that the message goes out to those who want to impose their will on us,” Shah said.
He also asked the chief minister Mufti Syed to apologise to the Kashmiri Muslims who have been badly hurt due to the verdict.
“Mufti had sought votes to keep BJP away but is now facilitating its entry into our kitchens. He must apologise to the people of Kashmir particularly to his voters whose vote he disregarded,” Shah said.
