2 BSF men injured in cross-LoC firing

Baramulla: Two BSF troopers were injured after Pakistani troops allegedly violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch and Kupwara districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pakistani troops targeted our positions along the LoC in Nowgam sector around 11 AM,” an army official said.
Pakistan also pounded several areas in Poonch district last night, Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
“Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations in forward areas of Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district from 2315 hours last night,” Mehta said.
He said that two BSF men were injured in Pak firing.
“The area witnessed ceasefire violations by Pakistan army between 2315-0001 hours,” he said.
Meanwhile, army has launched a massive search operation in the forests and higher reaches of north Kashmir.
Sources told Kashmir Reader that said that dozens of army units along with sniffer dogs and other modern equipments launched the operation here in the forest ranges of Uri, Rafiabad, Handwara and Kupwara along the Line of Control.
As per sources, the operation was launched after reports about presence of some non-local militants came in.
Sources said that the operation is underway from past three days; however, there has been no success so far.
