Navy divers join rescue operation to trace drowned teenager

Baramulla: Search operations continued for the second consecutive day Sunday in Jhelum in Sheeri area here to trace a teenager who drowned in the river on Saturday morning.

Witnesses told Kashmir Reader that Navy divers, popularly known as Marcos were called in by the district administration to trace Umer Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad Baba of Sheeri, who was carried away by river current while bathing in Jhelum on Saturday morning.

Earlier, police and locals made an attempt to trace the teenager. The rescue operation by the Marcos was going on when the last reports came in.
