SRINAGAR: The government on Thursday said it will try to send registered artisans in the state to every expo.
An official handout issued here said the Director Handicrafts, Gazanfar Ali, and his team of Officers from the Handicrafts Department visited various workplaces of the artisans “to ascertain the difficulties being faced by them”.
At Rathpora, Eidgah, the Director was impressed by the innovations made in the carpet craft by an artisan Shahnawaz Ahmad, it said.
Appreciating the young artist, his designs, and the technique used for depicting art in the form of carpet craft, the Director, as per the handout, stated, “We will try to send our registered artisans in every expo” Gazanfar Ali said.
“The artisans intending to participate in the fairs shall have to fill up an application form available with the department,” he said.
