SRINAGAR: Huriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday condemned slapping of yet another PSA on Masarat Alam and shifting him to Kotbalwal jail, terming it the ‘worst kind of state terrorism’.
Geelani in a statement said Alam’s continuous imprisonment vindicates that the state government has no say in the policy making and that it is the Indian home ministry with which the right of decision making is reserved.
“Jammu and Kashmir is practically under the martial law. The law and order has been deliberately suspended here. The preventive detention according to the international laws is although a grave human rights violation but it is frequently and openly used here,” Geelani said, adding, “Innocent people without any trial are imprisoned for years which is worst kind of human rights violation and undermining of the international laws and agreements.
