SRINAGAR: Continuing its efforts to foster entrepreneurial culture in the state, J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), district centre Reasi, carried out seven awareness programmes in the remote areas of the district.
In an official handout issued here, JKEDI said educated unemployed youth participating in the programmes were encouraged to opt for entrepreneurship and were briefed about different facilities being provided by JKEDI including training and financial linkage to set up entrepreneurial ventures.
They were made aware about Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS), Youth Start-Up Loan Scheme, Himayat-self employment and term loan scheme of National Minorities Development Finance Cooperation (NMDFC) Schemes being implemented by JKEDI, it said.
Speaking on the occasion JKEDI District Nodal Officer Reasi, as per the handout, said, “The problem of unemployment is not just faced by our State but is an international issue and entrepreneurship is an ultimate solution to tackle it.”
During the awareness programmes the participants were educated about potential entrepreneurial sectors of the area especially agri-allied, horticulture, floriculture, dairy farming, poultry, tourism, food processing and the services sector, it said.
