PULWAMA: A 02-year child died and 12 others were injured in three different road accidents in south Kashmir on Tuesday.
Police said that a passenger bus hit and seriously injured 2-year-old Zainab Mushtaq daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Najar, a resident of Gudoora Pulwama.
The injured girl was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where she succumbed to her injuries, a police official said. A case has been registered in this regard and driver arrested.
Meanwhile, 11 passengers were injured in a road accident in Kokernag area of Anantnag district, the police official said. The official said that a Tata Sumo vehicle carrying passengers from Kishtwar to Anantna turned turtle when the driver lost control near Daksum Sinthan Top.
He said police reached the spot soon after the accident and rescued the injured persons and shifted them to Larnoo hospital for treatment.
However the driver of the vehicle fled from the spot. A case has been registered in this regard.
In another accident, three persons including a woman were injured after a motorcycle collided with a scooty near railway station Kakapora in Pulwama district, SHO Kakapora Manzoor Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
The injured were shifted to the nearby hospital from where they were referred to Srinagar hospital in critical condition.
In Nanner area of Tral, a 50-year-old woman identified as Nita Kour wife of Wakil Singh, a resident of Nanner was critically injured when a bear attacked her. The injured was rushed to Sub District Hospital for treatment. However her condition is stable, BMO Tral, Shakeel Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
