Rs 414 crore disbursed in Baramulla district in Q1

SRINAGAR: At least Rs 414.15 crore have been disbursed under various schemes in the first quarter of the current fiscal in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In an official handout issued here, the J&K Bank said it conducted a District Level Review Committee meeting of Baramulla to review achievements made under the Annual District Credit Plan 2015-16.
The Lead District Manager (LDM) Baramulla, according to the bank, informed the meeting that under the Plan, Baramulla has recorded an achievement of 22.11% till June 30. It said an amount of Rs 414.15 crore was disbursed among 15,958 beneficiaries under various schemes.
The house, it said, was informed that under priority sector advances the district had achieved a growth of 30.14% on year-on-year basis, while the growth in agriculture sector was 47.65%.
The CD ratio of the district has reached to 76.44 %, it said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the DLRC, Bashir Ahmad Khan, advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with cooperation to achieve the goals and targets of development and employment generation in the district, the bank said.
He directed all line departments and banks to conduct awareness programmes at village and block levels to generate proper awareness among the people, it said.
Shopian Camps
In South Kashmir’s Shopian district, the bank’s Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling Centre organised an awareness camp in association with the Lead Bank Office in a Imamasahib local Government Higher Secondary School, the bank said.
More than 200 students and staff members of the school participated in the event, it said.
It said the Facilitator FLCC, M A Jan, informed the participants about social security schemes PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY and their long term benefits to the public.
Cluster Head Shopian Mohammad Shafi Salroo and Director RSETI Shopian Muzaffar Ahmad Khan also spoke on the occasion, it adding, adding that the Principal of the school, Ab Qayoom, hailed the bank for organising the programme.
Jammu Camp
The bank said its Ghou Manhasn business unit in Jammu organised a financial literacy camp at village Rathuwa in Ghou Manhasan of block Marh.
A number of people belonging to the area participated in the camp, it said.
Head of the unit, Mahesh Shivgotra, educated the people about the various schemes that the bank has “tailored” to meet the requirements of the rural people for their financial empowerment, it said.
