Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Horticulture Produce Marketing & Processing Corporation (JKHPMC) employee union Thursday organized a protest here demanding disbursement of their pending salaries.
The protesters accused that the policies of Managing Director (MD) of the Corporation are “anti-worker.” They said the employees are the worst sufferers as they have not been paid their salaries for the past six months.
The protesters raised the slogans “MD Hatao Corporation Bachao” besides urging the authorities to fulfill their long pending demands without further delay.
They said they have also appraised government especially Horticulture minister about their grievances on several occasions but their pleas have fallen to “deaf ears.”
“The corporation has a renowned apple juice plant in Sopore, wherein juice worth Rupees 3 crore is pending since 2012, which has happened due to poor execution of the corporation’s managing director,” the protesting employees said.
They also demanded that an honest and experienced Managing Director be appointed in the corporation.
