SRINAGAR: Dukhtaran-e-Millat president Syeda Asiya Andrabi on Monday accused authorities of trying to hush-up the case of molestation of a girl in Pulwama.
In a statement, Asiya said that SOG “goons are said to have molested an innocent girl but the authorities are trying to hush up this case.”
“The people of the area protested against the incident but the state forces used batons against them as was used near Syed Ali Geelani’s residence on Sunday,” she said.
Andrabi also accused the forces of unleashing a reign of terror in Raidwani area of Kulgam.
Andrabi said that Jammu Kashmir has become a police state wherein human rights of people were violated without any fear of accountability.
“The situation is so worse that an emergency seems to have been declared by India quietly. India wants to crush the freedom struggle here by iron hands,” she said.
Andrabi said that in Raidwani and other areas of Kulgam, people were being detained for raising a voice against injustice.
“Life has become hell for the masses for no reason. Many youths were arrested during nocturnal raids and people have been beaten up besides damage to the properties during the raids. Even today people were ruthlessly beaten up and pellets showered on them when they wanted to protest against the atrocities done by Indian army, police and other occupying forces,” she said.
“I think it was for the first time on Sunday that octogenarians were made a target and beaten so ruthlessly near Geelani Sahab’s residence which is an indication that how brute the RSS backed puppet government is,” she charged.
Andrabi said that the situation in the state has taken a very ugly turn which was a cause of concern. “We have seen occupying forces violating human rights for decades now but the current situation seems to be different and more dangerous. It seems that army, police and other forces have been given a free hand and there is nobody to stop the brutality,” she said.
She has however, emphasized on the resistance leadership to devise an impressive policy to counter the Indian brutality and wickedness.
