Ready to meet Aziz after NSA talks: Mirwaiz

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today expressed his willingness to meet Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz after he holds NSA level talks with his Indian counterpart slated to be held on Sunday.

Mirwaiz Umar while addressing people at Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid ahead of congregational prayers said if the constraint is Hurriyat’s meeting with Aziz ahead of NSA level talks then his amalgam is even ready to meet him after the talks are over.

“This is not an issue for us at all. We believe that if talks are held with a purpose and with sincerity then such constraints are to be removed,” Mirwaiz said.

The Huriyat (M) chief remarked further that Kashmiris are not the third party to the ‘dispute’ but have a vital role in the resolution of the vexed issue.

“The people of Kashmir hold the prime position in the dialogue process- without them; no forward movement can be witnessed,” Mirwaiz said in his address.

He also took a jibe at GOI, saying negative approach by the helmsmen in New Delhi will foil the entire  peace process and making ‘terrorism’ a central theme of NSA talks only represents a negative mindset.
