Mobile Fertiliser Monitoring System: Unconnected retailers to lose supplies

SRINAGAR: The government on Thursday directed the fertiliser wholesalers to block supplies to the retailers who are not connected to the Mobile Fertilizer Monitoring System mFMS.
An official handout issued here said a joint meeting of representatives of various fertiliser companies and wholesalers was held here to review implementation of mFMS in Kashmir division.
The meeting, it said, was informed that the objective of mFMS is to connect the dealers with the system so that subsidy reaches directly to the farmers. Through this system, the meeting was told, the stocks and distribution of fertilisers will be monitored.
According to the statement, all fertiliser companies were advised to open accounts through their dealers to ensure online availability and timely distribution, while the licensing authorities of the department were directed to suspend licences of the retailers who do not open their IDs to get connected with mFMS.
“Directions were given to the wholesale fertiliser dealers that no fertiliser stock shall be given to the retailers who have not updated their ID and passwords and are not connected with the mFMS,” it said.
