Govt orders probe in ReT teacher’s death

SRINAGAR: Government on Monday ordered probe into the mysterious death of a Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teacher, who was found dead in the Qamarwari area of Srinagar last week.
Javaid Ahmed Khan, a resident of Khan Mohalla Krusan in Lolab area of frontier district of Kupwara was found dead in Armpora area of Qamarwari in Srinagar on Thursday.
His death had evoked widespread protests in his native district with the family members and the locals alleging that Khan was murdered.
Taking note of the family’s concerns, the Education Minister, Naeem Akhtar on Monday said that he has asked IGP Kashmir to carry out in depth investigation into the matter. “I have asked for a thorough probe into the incident so that the facts are brought to fore,” he said.
Akhtar expressed grief over the demise of Khan and conveyed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
