Beigh anguished over ‘protocol breach’ by cabinet ministers

Baramulla: Senior PDP leader and member parliament, Muzzafar Hussain Beigh, on Monday publicly expressed anguish after two of his party colleagues and state cabinet ministers allegedly breached the protocol by addressing the people before him.
Eyewitnesses said Beigh was accompanying chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayed and others at the inaugural function of Sopore Bypass Bridge where the incident took place.
They said when the Beacon authorities, who had organised the function, asked Beigh to address the gathering, the minister for Law and Parliament Affairs Syed Basharat Bukhari immediately stood up from his seat and started addressing people.
Subsequently, minister for Roads and Buildings, Altaf Hussain Bukhari, followed Basharat and addressed people before Beigh.
Witnesses said that this angered Beigh who publicly asserted that the state cabinet ministers have breached the protocol. “The protocol is that member of the parliament should speak first but you broke that protocol,” he said while pointing towards the minister duo.
