Protests in Kupwara after mysterious death of teacher

KUPWARA: People of Krusan village in Kupwara took to streets on Friday against the mysterious death of a Rehbar-e-Taleem teacher in Qamarwari area of Srinagar on Thursday.
People protested after Friday prayers mourning the death of 35-year-old Javid Ahmad Khan, a resident of Khan Mohalla Krusan in Lolab.
The protesters alleged that Khan was murdered. “His body bore torture marks. His eyes were injured and he was tied by his neck which indicates that he was murdered after torture,” a protester said.
The protesters wanted police to identify the culprits and bring them to book. Residents said that Khan was the sole bread earner of a family of 12 members including his four children, wife, mother and a widowed sister-in -law and her children.
