Grenade blast in Shopian’s Jamia Masjid, 10 injured

Pulwama: At least ten people, four among them were critically injured when a grenade went off inside a Masjid in the neighbouring Shopian district of south Kashmir.

The grenade exploded inside the Jamia Masjid, Trenz during the Fajr prayers leaving ten people injured, an official told Kashmir Reader. All the injured were removed to the nearby hospital for treatment. Later four among them were referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.

The injured have been identified as Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Abdul Gani Dar, Mohammad Ismail Dar, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Nayeem Aijaz Lone, Mohammad Ashraf Shah, Ghulam Hassan Wani, Bilal Ahmad Shah, Ghulam Mohammad Teli and Javid Ahmad Shah.

The officials said that it was known how the grenade blast occurred. He said the matter is being investigated.
