Student’s body recovered from Jhelum after four days

Srinagar: Police have recovered the body of a teenage student who had drowned in river Jhelum in downtown here on Saturday last.

The body of 15- year- old Ikhlas Ahmad Gojri, son of Omar Mehraj Gojri of Chinkral Mohalla here was recovered this morning from Jhelum at Shadipora, Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, a police official told Kashmir Reader today.

A 9th standard student, Ikhlas had drowned while taking a bath in river Jhelum near his home in Chinkral Mohalla on Saturday last.

“The body has been taken to Sumbal Police Station. After legal formalities it will be handed over to the relatives for last rights,” the official added.
