SRINAGAR: The experts Wednesday asked the farmers in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district to be cautious against the symptoms of diseases emerging in the fields.
An official handout issued here said the experts of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bandipora, found symptoms of emerging Paddy Blast, Sheeth Blight, and Brown Spot diseases on paddy crop in Watrin, Panzgam, Qazipora, Nadihal and other villages.
“In order to get control over these diseases, the farmers are advised to spray paddy crop with Tricyclozole-75 WP (Beam) or Hexaconazole SEC or Ediphenpas-50 EC or Propiconazole 50 EC or Carbendazim-50 WP during evening time,” the experts suggested.
The farmers have been asked to contact the KVK for further assistance.
Meanwhile, the department of Agriculture, continuing with its Kissan Jagriti campaign in the Jammu’s Doda district, organised an awareness camp for farmer in village Kolai of Panchayat Jagota.
An official release issued here said farmers, sarpanchs and panchs participated in the event in which the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Thathri was the chief guest.
He advised the farmers to use hybrid seeds for better returns, the release said.
On the occasion, AEO, Bhella, Sanjay Kumar, highlighted various schemes launched by the department and urged the farming communities to avail the offered benefits.
