JKPCC asked to submit report on liabilities

SRINAGAR: The Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Tuesday asked the authorities to submit for scrutiny a detailed report on all liabilities related to the works executed by the J&K Projects Construction Corporation Ltd (JKPCC).
An official handout issued here said the committee held a meeting here under the chairmanship of MLA Rajiv Jasrotia. The committee, it said, discussed and examined CAG’s audit report pertaining to JKPCC for the financial years 2005-06 and 2010-11.
The meeting was attended by the committee members Mohammad Akbar Lone, Chowdhary Mohammad Akram, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Abid Hussain Ansari, Ch Qamar Hussain, and Surinder Kumar Ambardar.
“They asked the Public Works Department to submit for scrutiny of the committee members a detailed report about all liabilities with regard to incomplete works executed by the corporation,” the handout said.
It said the committee directed the concerned authorities to complete all major bridge projects in Chenab Valley at the earliest.
“The committee showed concern over the delay in these projects as reported in audit paras and called for fixing responsibilities in this regard. It was also directed that all ongoing projects being executed by JKPCC should be completed in a time-bound manner,” it said.
Commissioner Secretary PWD, Rohit Kansal and Managing Director of JKPCC briefed the committee about the performance of JKPCC.
