Piles of garbage dot G’bl roads Municipal Committee says it has identified a dumping site

Ganderbal: Owing to lack of a proper waste disposal site, piles of garbage lie scattered on roads in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
A delegation of locals, while appealing to district administration to get the garbage removed from the roads, said they apprehend outbreak of diseases due to rising temperatures.
“The heaps of garbage have also become breeding grounds for insects. Authorities should take measures to remove this waste,” said the locals.
Executive Officer Municipal Committee Ganderbal, Anees Chowdhary denied garbage lies scattered on the roads.
“We have identified a garbage dumping site and would ensure proper scientific disposal of garbage,” he said.
