Ganderbal: People of Warpora are aghast over government’s failure to complete the construction of Lala Sahab bridge, despite passage of five years.
They said that a wooden makeshift bridge, constructed as a substitute, also collapsed recently due to incessant rains.
Abdul Ahed Reshi , a local  Sarpanch, said that they were facing a lot of problems to reach main town Ganderbal.
“The bridge connects four villages, Malpora ,Arch ,Guzarbal and Arampora to main town Ganderbal. We have to take other longer routes to reach the town wasting our precious time. We approached various officials many times but all in vain, “he said.
“A footbridge which is being constructed won’t solve our problems. We want vehicles to pass over the bridge,” he said.
District development commissioner, Ganderbal, Showket Ajaz said that the construction of the bridge will resume soon.
“I will send the executive engineer of the area to start the process,” he said.
