Gastroenteritis outbreak in Pattan village: Authorities order probe

Srinagar: Authorities on Friday appointed Sub-divisional magistrate Pattan as enquiry officer to probe the circumstances that led to the outbreak of gastroenteritis disease in a north Kashmir village.
According to an official spokesman, while taking a serious note of supplying contaminated water to village Guywa of Tehsil Pattan, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah has ordered an enquiry into the circumstances that has led to the outbreak disease.
The spokesman said that Shah asked the enquiry officer to furnish a report regarding the incident within one week.
Pertinently, as many as 62 patients of the village have been provided treatment at Sub District Hospital, Pattan since the outbreak of the disease.
