SRINAGAR: The Governor N N Vohra Thursday asked the Accountant General (Audit), J&K, Hoveyda Abbas to ensure that all required steps are taken to secure the maintenance of “financial probity and fiscal discipline in the entire government machinery”.
An official handout issued here said called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan here.
He briefed the Governor about the state’s disciplines that were audited during 2013-14 and 2014-15 fiscals, highlighting the efforts being made for “promotion of a transparent framework of policy, rules and regulations for encouraging efficiency and accountability in the entire administrative apparatus”.
“The Governor discussed with Abbas the need for all required steps being taken to secure the maintenance of financial probity and fiscal discipline in the entire governmental machinery,” the release said.
Meanwhile, Vohra asked the SK University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Kashmir (SKUAST-K) to play its role in promotion of agriculture and regeneration of senile orchards.
According to an official handout issued here separately, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the varsity, Dr Tej Pratap, called on the Governor, who is also Chancellor of the university, at Raj Bhavan here.
Dr Pratap, it said, discussed with the Governor issues regarding the need to secure rapid growth of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and the steps initiated to ensure that KVKs perform a “definite role” in enhancing agricultural production and productivity in the state.
“The Governor urged the VC to ensure that the varsity plays a vital role in promoting agricultural production and that particular attention is paid to regeneration of senile orchards through high-density plantations,” it said.
