SRINAGAR: A faction of Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) has invited US ambassador to India to visit Kashmir Valley to “know and understand” the problems caused by the devastating 2014 floods.
In a release issued here, the faction said its Vice Chairman Iqbal Trumboo participated in the Eid Milan organised by the US embassy in New Delhi to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr and end of Ramadan.
It said Trumboo, who was a guest from KEA at the banquet, invited the US Ambassador, Richard R Verma, to visit Kashmir Valley.
“The ambassador promised to look at an early opportunity for the visit. George N Sibley, Minister Counsellor Economic, Environment Science, and Technology affairs, who was present , promised to accompany the ambassador and also look at the possibility of an earlier visit,” it said.
Trumboo, as per the release, told them that the visit would pave way for their interaction with the trade, commerce and industry leaders and officials of the Valley.
It, he said, will help them to “know and understand” the problems and difficulties suffered by the people, especially in the aftermath of the 2014 floods.
“…way would be paved for mutual cooperation and assistance of the USA for development of the Valley,” he said.
