Valley shuts down against Rajouri incident

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed across the Valley today against the burning of kalima-inscribed flags by the activists of the fanatic Hindu outfits in Rajouri district recently.

All shops, offices, business establishments’ petrol pumps in this capital city and elsewhere remained closed today in view of the shutdown called by Valley’s business fraternity against the burning of religious flags by the activists of right wing  RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal in Rajouri, witnesses told Kashmir Reader The shutdown supported by several pro-freedom groups and the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association also affected the movement of public transport across the Valley.

Reports of shutdown have also been received from other major towns and districts of the Valley, witnesses said.
