SRINAGAR: At least 779 inoperative provident fund (PF) accounts have been tracked in Kashmir division, the government said Friday.
An official handout issued here said a meeting was convened Friday under the chairmanship of Provident Fund Commissioner J&K, Srinagar, Vipra Bhal to discuss various issues related to inoperative accounts of the provident fund subscribers.
“As of now, some 779 inoperative accounts have been tracked amounting to Rs 57 lakh. The purpose of the exercise is that the amount of accumulation pertains to beneficiaries but has become inoperative shall be disbursed to rightful persons,” it said.
It said a large number of inoperative accountholders are from PHE Division Srinagar, Government Joinery Mill Pampore, Government Arts Emporium, Oberio Palace Hotel, Jay Kay Gas Company, Ellaquai Dehati Bank Srinagar, Rattan Rani Hospital, and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department.
The meeting, it said, decided that Additional Provident Fund Commissioner Kashmir will contact all concerned employers or managements. They would be asked to inform their employees to submit their claims to respective District Provident Fund Offices for release of their pending PF dues, it said.
