SRINAGAR: Governor N N Vohra, who is the Chancellor of SK University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Kashmir (SKUAST-K), hosted a farewell at Raj Bhavan here Wednesday for the outgoing Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the varsity, Dr Tej Pratap.
Dr Pratap will complete his 5-year tenure at the end of this week.
Eight other VCs of the central, state and non-state universities, and senior state government officers, who are associated with the functioning of the varsities, were present on the occasion.
Speaking to the gathering, Vohra reiterated “the importance of the role that the universities and institutions of higher learning and research need to play in advancing the goals of nation building”.
He appreciated Dr Pratap’s contribution in developing SKUAST-K as a “fast-emerging frontline institution” and wished him good health and many years of useful work ahead.
