Muzaffarabad: Jamaat-ud–Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said on Tuesday that India is hell bent on destroying Pakistan by supporting “terrorist networks in the country”.
“We should not be naïve to ignore the fact that India is enemy number one of Pakistan and the only way to save Pakistan and to liberate Jammu and Kashmir is jehad,” he told newsmen in Ghaziabad, 60 kilometer southeast of Muzaffarabad.
The JuD chief visited Ghaziabad to condole the death of former Pakistan administered Kashmir president Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan. He was accompanied by PaK Ameer of JuD Aziz Alvi and dozens of his supporters including LeT fighters.
He visited Sardar’s grave and offered prayers. Saeed said ceasefire violations by Indian troops along the borders have increased since Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister of India
“What I know of Kashmir’s importance for Pakistan is what I learnt from Sardar Qayyum. He was the founder of Kashmir jihad and today hoisting of Pakistani flags by Kashmiri youths in the Valley is the result of the foundation laid by him,” Saeed said.
He took a dig at Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif saying “Modi made Nawaz silent in Russia and opened fire on borders”.
Saeed asked Pakistan leadership to take a bold stance on Kashmir and not to “bow before Indian threats”.
The Tuesday visit of Saeed to PaK was his first since the US imposed ban on him two years ago.
