Disbursed Rs 150 crore to contractors: Government

SRINAGAR: The government Tuesday said it disbursed around Rs 150 crore to contractors, clearing their all pending bills till date.
An official handout issued here said the Finance Minister Dr Haseeb A Drabu, in view of the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, reviewed all the pending claims and liabilities in the treasuries across the state.
“On his directions, more than Rs 150 crore was disbursed to the contractors, clearing all the pending bills till date in the treasuries,” it said.
It said all pending claims on account of salaries, wages, honorarium, stipend and scholarships received in the treasuries till date have been cleared.
While taking note of the release of Rs 60 crore last week to clear the GP Fund liabilities, Drabu ordered release of another Rs 100 crore in next two days to clear the GPF liabilities of the government employees, it said.
In addition, NRHM wages to the tune of Rs 10 crore and other departmental liabilities, including Rs 2 crore (approx) on account of advertising and publicity, were also cleared, it added.
