41 shopkeepers penalised in Sgr

SRINAGAR: The authorities penalised 41 traders for violation of norms and recovered a fine of Rs 28,900 from them.
As per an official handout issued here Tuesday, the enforcement squad, headed by Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department Kashmir, conducted market inspections during the last week in Srinagar city and booked erring traders over violating Essential Commodities Act 1955.
It said the markets at Habba Kadal, Fateh Kadal, Rajouri Kadal, Mashali Mohalla, Khanyar, Dalgate, Noor Bagh, Qamarwari, Parimpora, Galibabad, Palpora, and Mirgund were inspected during the week.
“At least 113 business establishments were inspected and Rs 28,900 were recovered as fine from 41 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act 1955,” it said.
