20 houses inundated as Jhelum breaches at Pampore

Srinagar: At least twenty residential houses have been inundated in Pampore Township where river Jhelum breached embankment this afternoon.

The Jhelum breached the banks at Khankah Bagh area of the town this afternoon submerging at least 20 residential houses and hundreds of kanal of agriculture land, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. The residents panicked after the waters entered the compounds, even as the breach was plugged by the locals and the officials after hectic efforts.
