SRINAGAR: J&K Bank Friday said it organised several awareness camps in central Kashmir’s Budgam district in the last few weeks.
With a view to apprise the participating youth about PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY schemes and other financial products of the bank, FLCC Budgam participated in a mass awakening camp organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, the bank said in a release.
“The Facilitator FLCC A H Rafiqi highlighted the features of PMJDY scheme like issuance of Rupay card having inbuilt accidental insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh,” it said.
Besides loan products like KCC and ACC, he also discussed the social security schemes like PMSBY and PMJJBY meant for eradication of poverty and unemployment in rural areas, it said.
“The participants were encouraged to make use of these schemes in their respective villages and avail the benefits provided under these schemes to make their livelihood conditions better and secure,” the bank said.
It said the Lead Bank Budgam conducted two awareness camps in Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Budgam and Govt Higher Secondary School for 11th and 12th class students. The camps were organised in collaboration with RBI and Lead Bank Office Budgam, it added.
Facilitator FLCC apprised the students about financial products and services offered by the banks, particularly to students, in the form of education loan schemes, it said, adding that he urged the students “to avail the loans for development of their career by seeking admission in various professional and technical colleges”.
The LDM spoke about importance of savings and advantages of savings with the banks and other facilities and benefits of borrowings from the banks, it said.
It said the RBI representative cautioned the participants against fictitious offers, like lottery or remittance of cheap funds in foreign currency, and fictitious mails asking for details of ATM Cards and Account details.
