The night of Qadr

Lailat-ul-Qadr, the night of power is a gift to the best Ummah of all times.  It is believed that the pious companions of the most revered Prophet (SAW) once asked him that the previous Ummah had long lives and, therefore, more time to pray while as Muslims are not that privileged. Therefore, Allah in His Infinite Mercy granted them this night of great blessings.
The most revered Prophet (SAW) received the first revelation on this night. This blessed night is better than one thousand months.  (Al Quran).  Some scholars say that this night is the crowning glory of the holy month of Ramadan.  The importance of this night can be gauged from the fact that the Quran devotes a full Sura to it.
Hazrat Aisha (RA) stated that the Prophet (SAW) said, “Look for Lailat-ul-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.” (Bukhari). Many people stay awake on the odd nights of the last ten days of the holy month. No one particular night has been fixed for Lailat-ul-Qadr, so that the yearning to find it may increase and people may spend more nights in worshipping Allah. From this aspect, the importance of `I`tikaf (seclusion) during the last ten days of Ramadan is clear.
Hazrat Aisha (RA) stated the prayers that the Prophet (SAW) tried in the last Ashra (ten days) of Ramadan, he did not try in any of the Ashra. (Muslim)
The mother of the believers, Hazrat Aisha (RA) further stated that I asked the Prophet (SAW), If I find Lailat-ul-Qadar then what should I do? He (SAW) said recite this Dua: “Allah Humma Innka A’fuvun Tohib bul ul Afva Fa’aFuanni” (Tirmidhi)
“O Allah! You are the Forgiver and You like forgiving so forgive me”
Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that the Messenger (SAW) said: “Whoever stands (in prayer) in Lailat-ul-Qadr while nourishing his faith with self-evaluation, expecting reward from Allah, will have all of his previous sins forgiven.” (Bukhari and Muslim).
Some Ulema have given the signs of Lailat-ul-Qadr:
1. The sun rises early in the morning without rays.
2. Rain may fall either during the night or during the day of that night.
3. During night the sky will be somewhat foggy.
4. The sky will be slightly light without reflections and without rays.
