Govt forms committee to regulate price of bricks

SRINAGAR: The government Thursday constituted a committee of officers for streamlining the prices of bricks in Kashmir Valley.
An official handout issued here said the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, convened a meeting of officers and brick kiln owners here to discuss the increasing prices of bricks in Kashmir Valley.
“The threadbare discussions were held on the increasing rates of bricks. For streamlining the prices of bricks, the Divisional Commissioner constituted a committee of which all the Deputy Commissioners of Valley and Director Industries Kashmir, Director CAPD Kashmir have been nominated as members,” the handout said.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar will be convener of the committee, it said. “It was informed in the meeting that after Eid-ul-Fitr, the committee will fix the reasonable prices of bricks,” it said.
