JK Bank inaugurates ATM, organises meetings

SRINAGAR: The J&K Bank Monday inaugurated an ATM at Manzgam in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The facility was inaugurated by the Zonal Head (Kashmir, South) Mohammad Maqbool Lone in presence of Cluster Head Kulgam Malik Shabir Ahmad, Branch Head Iftikhar Ahmad, and scores of customers, traders, and senior citizens of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, the Zonal Head explained in detail the progress made by the bank. He told the audience that under Mushtaq Ahmad, who is J&K Bank’s Chairman and CEO, the bank is taking “every possible step to reach the unbanked and underbanked areas of the state by opening new business units and spreading network of ATMs”.

DLRC meeting held in Rajouri
The bank convened a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of Rajouri district for the financial year 2014-15.
Chaired by District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Deepti Uppal, the meeting was attended by (LDO) RBI Santosh Kumar, DDM NABARD Des Raj, senior officers from district administration, bankers and officers of line departments.
The LDM Rajouri, Anoop Bhat, briefed the house about the achievement of banks during the period.
He said, “Deposits in the district rose from Rs 2,123.90 crore to Rs 2,345.20 crore registering a YOY growth of 10% while as advances grew from Rs 509.10 crore to Rs.612.77 crore registering a yearly increase of 20%.”
Out of the set target of Rs 280.58 crore for priority sector lending under the ACP 2014-15, Rs 195.25 crore were disbursed, he said.
“Out of which Rs 42.17 crore was disbursed under agriculture sector, Rs 35.34 crore under Micro and Small Enterprises, Rs 0.72 crore under education sector, Rs 11.80 crore under housing sector and Rs 105.22 crore under other sectors,” he said.

FLCC Bandipora organises camps
The bank’s FLCC Bandipora conducted awareness programmes at various places of the district including at Markoot Gurez, Wanpora Gurez, Zalpora Sumbal, Kudara and Benlipora.
In these camps, the Facilitator FLCC, Abdul Sattar Najar, informed the people about the basics of financial planning.
He educated the participants about Jan Dhan Yojna, its benefits especially the insurance and overdraft facility, importance of the Debit Rupay Card.
