The spokesman said that the attitude of army with the families of the arrestees has created concerns about their safety.
“These three citizens belonging to the very poor families were arrested by the army some five days ago from their homes and since then their whereabouts is not known to anybody nor are their families allowed to meet them,” the spokesman said.
The conglomerate, he said also took notice of the “custodial torture” of Zahoor Ahmad Dar of Takya village of Sadarkote by the army.
“Army has once again become pro-active like they were doing in 90s and during this holy month of Ramadan they have started a process of harassment and arrests in the villages and far-flung areas of the Kashmir,” the spokesman said, adding that crackdowns and parades were being conducted in various areas during which a very insulting and abusive treatment is meted out with the people by the soldiers.
