SRINAGAR: Appealing business leaders of Gulf countries to invest in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, Saturday appealed the corporate heads of UAE to reserve jobs for the trained youth of the state.
After addressing International Conference on Religion and Peace organised by Markazu Saqafathi Sunniyya Al Islamiya, Dubai, in the International Theatre Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Ali interacted with the Indian society and business tycoons of UAE, an official handout issued here said.
“During the interaction, he urged them to come and invest in Jammu and Kashmir. Asking them to reserve jobs in their companies for the trained youth of the state, he told them that the state has vibrant, trained youths, which is facing the issue of unemployment due to lack of opportunities,” it said.
He asked the corporate heads of UAE to visit J&K and initiate the process of investment in the state.
“Help Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in his initiative to bring peace and prosperity to the state,” he told them. “The Arab world must come forward and help develop J&K. Arab leaders should send delegations of business leaders to Jammu and Kashmir and help the state develop by investing there.”
He also invited the patron of Markazi University Kerala, Sheikh Abu Baker, dignitaries of UAE including MD Lulu Murt Yousaf Ali and Managing Director of Flora Group of Hotels A V Hasan to visit J&K and “help the state move forward towards prosperity”.
He thanked Sheikh Abu Baker for his efforts in providing relief to the people of Poonch after 2014 floods.
