Woman accused of killing boy in Baramulla

Baramulla: Ten days after the dead body of a boy was found in a vegetable garden in Baramulla, two witnesses have come to fore saying that he died after he was hit by a stone thrown by a woman who owned the garden.
The family of 10-year-old Mudasir Ahmad Lone, who was found dead mysteriously in Balhama village of Rafiabad, has approached police to register an FIR against a local woman saying she killed the boy when he was trying to steal some pea pods from her garden.
Abdul Rashid Lone, the father of deceased boy, has pleaded in his complaint that Mudasir along with two other boys was in the vegetable garden of M. Akbar when his wife Zareefa Begam hurled a stone towards the children.
“We thought, he might have died of a fall from the nearby wall but a local and two children who were with Mudasir on the said day revealed that the wife of M. Akbar threw a stone which hit Mudasir,” said Abdul Rashid.
“The lady may not have hurled the stone with the intention to kill as she might have thrown it only to scare away the boy but unfortunately Mudasir died,” he said.
Meanwhile the police station Panzla has approached the deputy commissioner Baramulla for the exhumation of the dead body for postmortem.
“We have written a letter to deputy commissioner Baramulla for the exhumation but have received no response till date,” said Station House Officer (SHO) Panzla, Gulam Mohammad.
