Doctors’ day observed as “black day” in Valley hospitals: DAK

Srinagar: The doctors at the government run hospitals today staged peaceful protest against the continued suspension of their colleague and the president Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan by the authorities.

The doctors observed the Doctors’ Day as black day today and wore black bands in all hospitals in response to a call given by DAK to protest the “unjustified and illegal” suspension of Dr Nisar, a spokesman of the doctors’ body said Wednesday.

“Dr Nisar was suspended in May 2014 for raising his voice against spurious drugs in which some higher ups were involved. People of the valley were going to the hospitals with a hope to get treated but instead were given poison,” the DAK spokesman said.
