SRINAGAR: Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOAK) and J&K SKI and Mountaineering Association (JKSMA) Tuesday paid rich tributes to Renu Fotedar, Kashmir-born mountaineer who died in Neapl.
“Renu’s death is a grave loss to the mountaineering fraternity of J&K state in particular and to the adventure world in general,” the associations said in a joint statement issued here.
President ATOAK, Rauf Tramboo, said Renu’s death is an irreparable loss and a tragic event.
“It is hard to fill the void her death has created in the adventure field of J&K state. She was the only trained and experienced women mountaineer of Kashmir Valley, who attempted to climb world’s highest mountain,” he said.
“We have lost a passionate mountaineer who was in love with adventure and spiritualism. Kashmir will always miss its brave daughter,” he added. All the members of ATOAK and JKSMA expressed solidarity with her family and prayed for the peace of her soul.
