HCJK PaK chapter holds conference on Kashmir issue

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (Pakistan administered Chapter) held a round table Conference to discuss issues related to resolution of the Kashmir issue.
In a statement, a party spokesman said the conference was held at Kashmir House in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The spokesman said that besides discussing various issues, the participants passed a resolution pressing for speedy resolution of the lanog-pending issue.
He said that the participants resolved that the world community was well aware of the disputed legacy of Jammu and Kashmir and should help in the resolution of this issue as soon as possible as per the aspiration of the people.
The spokesman added that the participants also resolved that the people of Jammu and Kashmir essentially want to live in peace with honour and dignity. “In this context they welcome the dialogue process between Pakistan and India.”
“The United Nations, United States, the United Kingdom, European Union and the world human rights organizations must take into account historical dimension of the Kashmir dispute and the motives behind the sacrifices and sufferings of the people of Kashmir,” the statement said further.
The spokesman also said that the participants also condemned the efforts allegedly made to change the demography of the state.
“They also opposed setting up of separate townships for Pandits and create state within a state in Kashmir Valley on the Israeli pattern,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman said that the participants demanded repeal of draconian laws including AFSPA and Public Safety Act. “They also urged the GoI to release the political prisoners and also asked for access of human rights and other humanitarian organisations to Kashmir.”
